The Southern Maryland Civil War Round Table is pleased to announce that its next meeting will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 7:00pm at The Maryland Veterans Museum, 11000 Crain Highway North, Newburg, MD 20664.

Join us tonight as we welcome Mr. Jeffery Joyce, who will discuss one of the smaller engagements of the American Civil War, fought in Prince William County, VA; The Battle of Kettle Run.

Fought on August 27, 1862 and described as “A Dreadful Battle“, the Battle of Kettle Run was fought on what is now the Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park in Prince William County.  The battle was a prelude to the 2nd Battle of Manassas/Bull Run and fought by units under the command of Major Generals Richard Ewell (Confederate Army of Northern Virginia) and Joe Hooker (Federal Army of the Potomac).

Jeff Joyce is an Air Force veteran and retired Defense contractor who lives in Manassas.  He is a volunteer  at Culpeper National Cemetery, supporting the Wreaths Across America program. In addition, Jeff is a Docent at the National Air and Space Museum, a volunteer with the Honor Flight program, a member of the Manassas National Battlefield living history team and a battlefield guide at Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park in Prince William County.
